Cardio exercise

Elliptical

How to do it

  1. Step onto the elliptical machine foot pedals and grip the moving or stationary handles as preferred.
  2. Stand tall with a slight bend in the knees and the weight centered over the middle of each foot.
  3. Begin the pedaling motion in a smooth, continuous forward stride, letting the pedals guide the pace.
  4. Drive through the quadriceps on the forward push and through the calves as the foot completes its arc.
  5. Hold a steady stride rate and adjust the resistance or incline to keep the effort at the intended level.
  6. Avoid gripping the handles tightly to support body weight, since letting the legs carry the load keeps the stride natural.
