Cardio exercise
Elliptical
How to do it
- Step onto the elliptical machine foot pedals and grip the moving or stationary handles as preferred.
- Stand tall with a slight bend in the knees and the weight centered over the middle of each foot.
- Begin the pedaling motion in a smooth, continuous forward stride, letting the pedals guide the pace.
- Drive through the quadriceps on the forward push and through the calves as the foot completes its arc.
- Hold a steady stride rate and adjust the resistance or incline to keep the effort at the intended level.
- Avoid gripping the handles tightly to support body weight, since letting the legs carry the load keeps the stride natural.
