Cardio exercise
Agility Ladder
How to do it
- Lay the agility ladder flat on level ground and stand tall at one end facing the first rung.
- Rise onto the balls of the feet with the knees soft and the eyes forward rather than down at the rungs.
- Drive quickly through each square using short, quick steps, letting the calves and quadriceps power the ground contacts.
- Keep the arms pumping in rhythm with the feet to help maintain balance through the direction changes.
- Move through the ladder at a brisk, controlled cadence, resetting to a walk between passes to recover.
- Avoid looking down at the feet, since dropping the chin slows the rhythm and throws off balance.
