Cardio exercise
Air Bike
How to do it
- Sit on the stationary bike with the saddle set so the leg nearly straightens at the bottom of the pedal stroke.
- Rest the hands lightly on the handlebars and brace the core to keep the torso still while pedaling.
- Begin pedaling at a self selected pace, noting that the fan resistance rises the harder the legs push.
- Drive the pedals through the quadriceps and finish each stroke by pressing through the calves toward the toe.
- Pace the effort by feel rather than by watching a display, since the resistance itself scales with speed.
- Avoid pedaling in short, choppy bursts, since a smooth continuous stroke keeps the resistance predictable.
