Cardio exercise

Air Bike

How to do it

  1. Sit on the stationary bike with the saddle set so the leg nearly straightens at the bottom of the pedal stroke.
  2. Rest the hands lightly on the handlebars and brace the core to keep the torso still while pedaling.
  3. Begin pedaling at a self selected pace, noting that the fan resistance rises the harder the legs push.
  4. Drive the pedals through the quadriceps and finish each stroke by pressing through the calves toward the toe.
  5. Pace the effort by feel rather than by watching a display, since the resistance itself scales with speed.
  6. Avoid pedaling in short, choppy bursts, since a smooth continuous stroke keeps the resistance predictable.
