Strength exercise

Dumbbell Front Raise

How to do it

  1. Stand with feet hip-width apart holding a dumbbell in each hand at the front of the thighs, palms facing the body.
  2. Brace the core and keep a soft bend in the elbows throughout the set.
  3. Raise one or both dumbbells straight in front of the body up to shoulder height.
  4. Keep the wrists straight and avoid letting the dumbbells drift out to the sides during the raise.
  5. Lower the dumbbells back to the thighs under control over the same path.
  6. Exhale while raising and inhale while lowering, avoiding the common fault of using a backward lean to swing the weights up.
