Strength exercise
Dumbbell Front Raise
How to do it
- Stand with feet hip-width apart holding a dumbbell in each hand at the front of the thighs, palms facing the body.
- Brace the core and keep a soft bend in the elbows throughout the set.
- Raise one or both dumbbells straight in front of the body up to shoulder height.
- Keep the wrists straight and avoid letting the dumbbells drift out to the sides during the raise.
- Lower the dumbbells back to the thighs under control over the same path.
- Exhale while raising and inhale while lowering, avoiding the common fault of using a backward lean to swing the weights up.
