Strength exercise

Dumbbell Arnold Press

How to do it

  1. Sit or stand holding a dumbbell in each hand at shoulder height with the palms facing the body.
  2. Brace the core and begin pressing the dumbbells upward while rotating the palms outward.
  3. Continue the press and rotation together until the arms are fully extended overhead with the palms facing forward.
  4. Pause briefly at the top with the shoulders stacked under the dumbbells.
  5. Reverse the rotation on the way down, turning the palms back to face the body as the dumbbells return to shoulder height.
  6. Keep the rotation smooth and continuous rather than pressing and twisting in separate stages.
