Strength exercise
Depth Jump
How to do it
- Stand on top of a raised platform set to a comfortable height, toes near the edge.
- Step off the platform and land on the balls of both feet, sinking briefly into the hips and knees.
- The instant your feet contact the floor, drive upward into a maximal vertical jump, swinging the arms up for height.
- Land the jump softly on both feet, bending the knees and hips to absorb the impact.
- Exhale as you drive upward and inhale as you reset at the top of the platform for the next repetition.
- A common fault is pausing too long on the ground before jumping, aim for a quick transition from landing to takeoff.
