Strength exercise
Cable Rotational Chop
How to do it
- Set the pulley to chest height and stand sideways to the machine with feet wider than shoulder-width, gripping the handle with both hands extended toward the tower.
- Brace your core and set a slight bend in both knees to create a stable base.
- Rotate your torso and hips away from the machine, pulling the handle across your body in a flat, horizontal arc powered by the quadriceps and gluteus maximus.
- Pivot the back foot as you finish with the handle at the outside of your hip, calves engaged to stabilize the turn.
- Exhale as you rotate away and inhale as you return to face the machine.
- Avoid letting the arms do the pulling alone; drive the rotation from the hips and trunk.
