Strength exercise
Cable Hip Adduction
How to do it
- Attach an ankle cuff to a low pulley and stand sideways to the machine with the working leg farthest from the tower, holding the frame for balance.
- Brace your core and stand tall on the supporting leg with a soft bend in the knee.
- Pull the working leg across your body toward and slightly past the midline, keeping the torso still and upright.
- Control the leg back out to the starting position, resisting the pull of the cable rather than letting it snap back.
- Exhale as the leg crosses in and inhale as it returns to the start.
- Avoid twisting the hips or torso to add momentum; let the leg do the work in a straight line.
