Strength exercise

Cable Front Raise

How to do it

  1. Attach a single handle to a low pulley and stand facing away from the machine with feet staggered for balance.
  2. Hold the handle in one or both hands at the front of the thighs with arms extended.
  3. Raise the handle forward and upward to shoulder height, keeping the movement path straight and controlled.
  4. Keep the shoulders down away from the ears and the torso upright throughout the raise.
  5. Lower the handle back down slowly, maintaining tension on the cable rather than letting the weight stack drop.
  6. Exhale on the way up and inhale on the way down, avoiding the common fault of shrugging the shoulders to assist the lift.
