Strength exercise
C-Skip
How to do it
- Start in a tall standing position with shoulders relaxed and arms bent at roughly 90 degrees.
- Drive one knee up to hip height while flexing the ankle so the toes point toward the shin.
- Snap that foot down and back in a C shaped path, striking the ground under your hips to fire the quadriceps and gluteus maximus.
- Skip forward onto the opposite foot, landing lightly through the calves, and repeat the knee drive and snap-down pattern on that side.
- Keep a light, quick cadence and exhale in rhythm with each skip as you travel forward.
- Avoid reaching the foot out in front of your hips on contact; let the ankles stay springy rather than landing flat-footed.
