Strength exercise

Band Shoulder Press

How to do it

  1. Stand on the center of a resistance band with feet shoulder width apart, holding one handle in each hand at shoulder height.
  2. Brace the core and set the shoulders down away from the ears before pressing.
  3. Press both handles straight overhead until the arms are fully extended, keeping the band tension even on both sides.
  4. Keep the ribs stacked over the hips as the handles pass overhead rather than arching the lower back.
  5. Lower the handles back to shoulder height under control, resisting the band's pull on the way down.
  6. Keep the wrists stacked over the elbows through the full press.
