Flexibility exercise
Ankle Circles
How to do it
- Sit or stand on one leg and lift the other foot slightly off the ground.
- Point the toes and begin rotating the ankle slowly in one direction.
- Trace as large a circle as comfortable with the toes, moving through the full range of the ankle.
- Complete a set number of rotations in one direction before reversing to circle the other way.
- Keep the movement isolated to the ankle, avoiding swinging the whole leg to create the circle.
- Lower the foot and repeat on the other side once both directions are complete.
