Wide Grip Pull-ups

How to do it

  1. Hang from the pull-up bar with an overhand grip, hands set about 1.5 times shoulder width apart.
  2. Brace the core and depress the shoulder blades before initiating the pull.
  3. Pull the body up by driving the elbows down and out to the sides, working the back muscles through a wide range.
  4. Bring the chest toward the bar until the chin clears it.
  5. Lower back down over two counts to a full hang at the bottom.
  6. Avoid kipping the hips to swing the body upward.
