Snatch Pull

How to do it

  1. Set up with a wide snatch grip, hips back, shins near the bar and the chest held tall over the bar.
  2. Brace the core and initiate the pull by extending the knees and hips together, keeping the bar close to the shins.
  3. Continue the pull past the knees, driving the hips forward hard to bring the bar to the thighs.
  4. Finish with a full triple extension of the ankles, knees, and hips, shrugging the shoulders up at the very top.
  5. Keep the arms straight throughout the entire pull, letting the legs and hips generate the power rather than the arms.
  6. Lower the bar back to the floor under control, resetting the hip hinge each rep; avoid rushing the first pull off the floor, which reduces the power available for the extension.
