Strength exercise
Ring Turned Out Support
How to do it
- Set the gymnastic rings at a height that allows a full straight arm support with your feet clear of the floor.
- Grip the rings and rotate your hands outward into a turned out position with the palms facing forward.
- Press down through the rings to lift into support, driving the chest up and the shoulders down and back.
- Lower your body a few inches with control, then press back up to full support for each repetition.
- Keep the core braced and the rings pulled in against your sides rather than letting them flare outward.
- Exhale on the press up and avoid letting the shoulders round forward at the top of the movement.
