Neutral Grip Pull-ups

How to do it

  1. Grip parallel handles or a neutral-grip bar attachment with palms facing each other, shoulder-width apart.
  2. Hang with arms fully extended and brace the core before starting the pull.
  3. Pull your chest toward the handles at a controlled, strict tempo, driving the elbows straight down along the sides.
  4. Let the back initiate the pull, with the biceps finishing the movement as your chin clears the handles.
  5. Exhale on the pull up, then inhale as you lower back to a full hang over two to three slow counts.
  6. Keep the shoulders pulled down away from the ears throughout the slow descent rather than shrugging at the top.
