Flexibility exercise

Hip Circles

How to do it

  1. Stand with feet hip-width apart and hands resting on your hips.
  2. Shift your weight slightly onto one leg to free the opposite hip to move.
  3. Trace a slow, wide circle with the hips, moving forward, to the side, back, and around in one continuous path.
  4. Keep the circles smooth and controlled rather than jerky or rushed.
  5. Breathe naturally throughout, completing circles in one direction before reversing.
  6. Keep the knees soft and the motion centered in the hips rather than the lower back.
