Strength exercise
Handstand Walk
How to do it
- Kick up into a handstand against a wall or with a spotter, hands shoulder width apart and fingers spread wide.
- Shift weight slightly onto one hand and step the other hand forward in a small, controlled motion.
- Alternate hands to walk forward, keeping the body in a tight vertical line throughout.
- Brace the core hard to prevent the hips from piking or the back from arching during each step.
- Keep the fingers and forearm flexors gripping the floor actively to fine tune balance with each shift.
- Take small, deliberate steps and avoid rushing the hand placement, a common fault that causes the body to drift off line.
