Strength exercise
Dumbbell Row
How to do it
- Stand with feet shoulder width apart, holding a dumbbell in each hand with a neutral grip in front of the thighs.
- Hinge forward at the hips to about 45 degrees, keeping the knees softly bent and the back flat.
- Brace the core and let both dumbbells hang at arm's length below the shoulders.
- Pull both dumbbells up toward the hips at the same time, driving the elbows back past the torso.
- Squeeze the shoulder blades together at the top before lowering the dumbbells back to a full stretch over two counts.
- Keep the torso angle fixed throughout the set instead of standing up to help the dumbbells rise.
