Cardio exercise

Cycling

How to do it

  1. Set the stationary bike saddle so the knee holds a slight bend at the bottom of the pedal stroke.
  2. Sit with a relaxed grip on the handlebars and the shoulders down and back.
  3. Begin pedaling in smooth circles at a resistance that feels moderately challenging.
  4. Drive each downstroke through the quadriceps and let the upstroke stay light and relaxed.
  5. Hold a steady cadence for the working portion of the session before easing off to cool down.
  6. Avoid letting the hips rock side to side, since a stable saddle position keeps the pedal stroke smooth.
