Cardio exercise
Cycling
How to do it
- Set the stationary bike saddle so the knee holds a slight bend at the bottom of the pedal stroke.
- Sit with a relaxed grip on the handlebars and the shoulders down and back.
- Begin pedaling in smooth circles at a resistance that feels moderately challenging.
- Drive each downstroke through the quadriceps and let the upstroke stay light and relaxed.
- Hold a steady cadence for the working portion of the session before easing off to cool down.
- Avoid letting the hips rock side to side, since a stable saddle position keeps the pedal stroke smooth.
