Strength exercise

Banded Terminal Knee Extension

How to do it

  1. Anchor the band at knee height behind you and loop it behind the knee of the working leg, standing with a slight bend in that knee.
  2. Shift weight onto the working leg with the other foot slightly forward for balance.
  3. Straighten the knee against the band's pull through the last few degrees of extension, feeling the effort in the quadriceps.
  4. Keep the hips level and the standing foot flat, avoiding any twist through the working knee.
  5. Exhale as you extend the knee, inhale as you allow it to bend back under control.
  6. Common fault: avoid locking the knee harshly at the top or letting the hips shift to generate momentum.
