Cardio exercise

Swimming (Freestyle)

How to do it

  1. Float face down with the body extended and begin a steady flutter kick from the hips.
  2. Reach one arm forward and catch the water, then pull it back past the hip using the latissimus dorsi.
  3. Rotate the shoulders with each stroke to lengthen the reach and keep the recovery arm relaxed above the water.
  4. Roll the body slightly side to side with each stroke rather than staying flat and rigid.
  5. Turn the head to the side to breathe every two or three strokes, keeping one goggle in the water.
  6. Hold a continuous alternating stroke rhythm for the length of the pool, keeping the kick compact.
