Strength exercise
Kettlebell Halo
How to do it
- Hold a kettlebell upside down by the horns at chest height with both hands close to the body.
- Brace the core and circle the kettlebell around the head, passing it behind the neck and back to the front.
- Keep the elbows in tight and let the shoulders drive the circular path rather than ducking the head forward to clear it.
- Keep the core stiff so the ribs do not flare and the lower back does not arch as the kettlebell passes behind the head.
- Breathe out as the kettlebell passes in front of the face and in as it circles behind the head.
- Alternate the circling direction after a set number of rotations to work both directions evenly.
