Strength exercise
Handstand Hold
How to do it
- Approach a wall and place both hands flat on the floor shoulder width apart, fingers spread for a stable base.
- Kick up one leg at a time until the body is inverted with heels resting lightly against the wall.
- Press firmly through the shoulders to keep the arms locked and the body forming a straight vertical line.
- Brace the core to prevent the lower back from arching away from the wall.
- Hold the position for the prescribed duration, breathing in a steady controlled pattern.
- Keep the head neutral between the arms and avoid letting the hips pike forward, a common fault that shifts load off the shoulders.
