Strength exercise

Frog Stand

How to do it

  1. Squat down low with the knees spread wide and place both hands flat on the floor shoulder width apart in front of you.
  2. Rest the outsides of your knees against the backs of your upper arms, just above the elbows, and lean your weight forward.
  3. Brace the core hard and press firmly through the hands, loading the shoulders as you shift the weight off your feet.
  4. Slowly lift both feet off the floor, balancing on the hands alone with the knees hooked against the arms.
  5. Keep the head up and the gaze slightly forward, breathing steadily rather than holding your breath to stay balanced.
  6. Lower the feet back to the floor with control between attempts rather than dropping out of the position.
