Strength exercise

Battle Rope Snake

How to do it

  1. Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, knees slightly bent, holding one end of the battle rope in each hand close to the floor.
  2. Keep the arms nearly straight with a slight bend at the elbows and a steady grip.
  3. Brace the core to keep the hips from swaying with the arm motion.
  4. Move both arms in a continuous side-to-side pattern low to the ground so the ropes ripple like a snake, keeping tension through the shoulders throughout.
  5. Keep the movement smooth and breathe steadily in rhythm with the continuous motion rather than jerking the ropes with short pulses.
  6. Avoid letting the core go slack, which causes the hips to sway with the arm motion.
