Strength exercise

Battle Rope Side-to-Side Waves

How to do it

  1. Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, knees slightly bent, holding one end of the battle rope in each hand at waist height.
  2. Keep the hips facing forward and the grip steady on both ends.
  3. Brace the core to resist rotation as the arms move side to side.
  4. Sweep both arms together to one side to create a wave, then reverse and sweep to the other side, working the shoulders through the lateral arcs.
  5. Exhale on each sweep and inhale during the brief transition to the opposite side.
  6. Avoid letting the torso twist with the arms instead of keeping the hips square.
