Strength exercise
Battle Rope Circles
How to do it
- Stand in a staggered stance with knees soft, holding one rope end in each hand at hip height with arms extended toward the anchor point.
- Sweep both ropes outward and upward in wide, continuous circles, moving the arms through a full circular path at the shoulders.
- Keep the circles symmetrical and unbroken, feeling a steady pull and rotation through the shoulders and upper back with each pass.
- Breathe in a steady rhythm that is not tied to a single circle, exhaling every few rotations rather than holding the breath.
- Continue circling for 10 to 15 rotations in one direction, then reverse and circle the same number of rotations in the opposite direction.
- Keep the ropes taut and the circles wide rather than letting them collapse into small loops, which is the most common fault.
