Water Aerobics

How to do it

  1. Stand in chest deep water with feet hip width apart and knees soft, using the water for resistance.
  2. Drive the knees up and push through the quadriceps to march or jog in place against the water's resistance.
  3. Sweep the arms through the water at shoulder height, pressing through the shoulders on each pass.
  4. Keep the torso upright and braced so the water resistance is met with control rather than swaying.
  5. Match the tempo of the arm and leg movements to a steady, repeatable cadence.
  6. Breathe steadily throughout, easing the pace if the water resistance makes the movement rushed.
