Strength exercise

Arch Strengthening (Foot)

How to do it

  1. Sit or stand with the working foot flat on the floor and the toes relaxed.
  2. Press the ball of the foot and heel down while drawing the arch upward without curling the toes.
  3. Hold the shortened position briefly, feeling the effort across the muscles along the arch of the foot.
  4. Keep the toes flat and long throughout the movement rather than gripping the floor with them.
  5. Release the arch slowly back to a flat, neutral foot position.
  6. Repeat for the full set, keeping the ankle still so the work stays isolated in the foot.
